MPMF

Its easy for people to stand back and throw stones and take potshots at OTR. Its gentrified, its expensive and exclusive. Saying and thinking those things is taking the easy way out. Expensive? sure its that. But you don't have to spend the GDP of a small African nation to eat or have fun. Lucy Blue Pizza anyone? You can get a slice for two dollars. Bakersfield? A taco, PBR in a boot and a tip will give you change back from a ten. And that isn't even settling, its some of the best food you'll eat anywhere.
And events? same story, recently people got worked up over Diner en Blanc. But how about The City Flea? Doesn't cost a dime unless you purchase something. Second Sunday on Main? Free.
Which brings us to MPMF, what I love about MPMF is that you could spend as much or as little to attend as you want. You could purchase a VIP ticket for $140 or you could go and not spend a penny hanging out at the Midway with its free stage or a couple other venues offering free music.
I hung out at the Midway, soaking up free music and checking out the interactive box trucks, they keep getting better every year.The Rockomatic and Chase Republics Short Order Poetry were popular.

My favorite carnival truck was The Bid Haus' truck, QueenCityInk where they recruited tattoo artists to apply sharpie tattoos.


ArtWorks had student artist painting cars, people volunteered to have their cars painted, look for these on Cincinnati streets. I love Arnolds Sprinter van and the car with the V&V inspiration, we have one of Kevin White's paintings so I get excited when I see his influence on artowrk in the city.



Jeni's Ice Creams had a stand, you can never have too much Jeni's

This is one of Cincinnati's greatest assets, you can have a good time no matter how much you have to spend.
