Walking Dead, Cincinnati style

A hot sun filled afternoon, not a cloud in the sky. A dry wind rattles the leaves and blows around a tinfoil baking pan giving a backdrop to a scene in which if a zombie had stepped out we might not have been all that surprised.
It seemed like everyone had ate breakfast, washed the dishes and then....what? disappeared?
I'm sure the reality isn't that dramatic, I imagine the 28th of whatever month someone went around and told everyone that on the 30th the electricity and water would be turned off and the gates locked. A made rush ensues with anything not of great importance left behind. Then the scavengers and vultures descended stripping what was left.

  1. "...with anything not of great importance left behind." I see a coffeemaker on the counter, so that CAN'T be the case. What kind of heathen would leave a coffeemaker behind?

  2. True, it must have been a mad rush to leave behind a coffee maker.

  3. Goodness, This is so sad.

"Broken hearts & broken windows, make life difficult to see, that's why last night & this morning, always look the same to me" . . from a John Prine song "Souvenirs".

That's how I felt looking at these photos of desolation. Good job on the photography.

Those little kid's, toys, . . hope the folks that had to leave so fast are having a good life today.

I remember in the news hearing of several trailer parks poorly managed leaving folks living their stranded with no options. . . wonder if this was one.
