Cirque du Yelp

Cirque du Yelp!

One of the crazier events of the year, Cirque du Yelp, held at the Carnegie Visual and Performing Arts Center, a space seemingly created for something like this. It was yelp, so it had all the food and drink you would expect plus a side show.
Cirque du Yelp had a Renaissance Fair feeling to it, except with a wild west/circus feel in place of the Medieval characters.

How did all this happen and why? For that we'd need to talk to Cincinnati's community manager, Alex Shebar.
Which we did.
Cirque du Yelp came from a conversation Alex had with Queen City Cabaret about performing at an event, Queen City Cabaret is an umbrella group that also includes Zahara's Tangled Web and the Pickled Bros. Side Show. They felt like Cincinnati has all these gems, cool and interesting groups that not many people know about.
How do you turn people onto that?
You throw a carnival extravaganza, that's how.
And what a show it was.
